So by now you probably know that the ‘first kiss’ viral was allegedly an ad for a clothing company or a cynical plot to extract your money as one British broadsheet puts it….but I still don’t think that takes away from the essence of the content. It remains appealing to the public mostly, I imagine, because content of a more racy, aggressive, frequently devoid of human warmth & emotion, not to mention completely mis-representational of what most of us get up to behind closed doors is par for the course these days.
This film taps into the febrile nervousness, vulnerability and hopefully intimacy that most of us will encounter, no matter what age we are, where we come from or what decade we live in - or were born in - when we get up close and personal with another human being for the first time in reality. Some things don’t change. Here is one of them. Amen.
