Bill the Butcher

The Tunde story was touching and tender. He must have been one of those unfortunate people who give their hearts completely and absolutely to the first person they are intimate with, and I don't necessarily mean those they have sex with. I'm pretty certain he had no other girlfriend before our narrator, and not, in all probability (given his mother) even any female friends.

If there is one thing I'm glad of after reading this account, it's that I did not value my virginity. it would have been terrible to yearn for someone who didn't feel the same. In this case, our narrator could either feel like a cruel-hearted bitch for hurting him, or destroy her own happiness by marrying him. The choice is pain either way, and in the interests of long-term happiness, of course she chose the wiser path.

Also, I am SO glad I never had sex with a virgin. I could not handle emotional drama.
